Description

Carved from solid red alder, this miniature boat paddle is 18 inches long, 4 inches wide and 3/4 inch thick, with a leather cord for hanging. The blade takes engraving beautifully, showing a rich contrast against the pale, fine grain.

Paddles carry weight in the Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, where a presented paddle marks a retirement, a change of command or a farewell from the unit. Engraving is free with no setup fee: rank, name, unit and dates of service on the blade, with a crest above. Civilians hang it engraved with a lake cabin name, a boat name or a fishing club logo.

We engrave these in our Escondido shop, a short drive from Camp Pendleton and MCRD San Diego.
